The news out of Ukraine has been bleak recently and many friends and acquaintances seem quite hopeless about the future in Ukraine. Shortly before we left Ukraine, we heard a pastor preach who reminded his congregation that despite all that is happening in Ukraine that God is still God and He is sovereign and supreme over all things. He was and is right. Despite all the depressing news coming out of Ukraine, God is still in control and His will and plans will prevail through all of this turmoil and strife. We can rest confidently in this. We ask for your prayers for the people of Ukraine as the future can seemwithout hope; but also that the Lord would use the present circumstances to soften hearts towards the message of the gospel. We also ask for your prayers for the local church, that it would be a beacon of hope and light during these dark and trying times. Pray that in all things the Lord would be glorified
Ephesians 3:14-21
“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
