Generous Gift Brings Winter Warmth

Winter in Transcarpathia brings chilling temperatures and cold winds, often accompanied by snow.  Winter this years has been unseasonably warm, yet we have still seen spells of bitterly cold conditions.  While we were in North Carolina this past autumn, Mrs. Kathy VanDorp, a relative of Stacey’s, provided us with a generous gift of lovely hand-made winter scarves.  We were able to take the scarves back to Ukraine and give them to all of the girls in the graduating class here at the Reformed High school in Peterfalva.  The girls were very excited and expressed their sincere thanks.  The girls have been wearing the scarves around school and to church; the church building is not heated and services can be cold during the winter months.
